Welcome to the forum Andrew , and in the same instance sorry to see you see you are having to be here. . This is a great place to get support though and has a good sense of community

With regard Disability Living Allowance , it is not the fact you have been diagnosed with RA , but the effects that the RA have on your care needs and mobility . You can claim whether you are in work or not .

Did you receive or are you due to receive a welcome pack? If so you should have / will receive guides for welfare benefits including DLA.

Here is the link to the on line version NRAS Benefits and RA This gives an overview of Benefits you may be able to claim dependant on your situation and needs.

Here is the link to the on line version NRAS How to Claim Disability Living Allowance

Do not be put off by the apparent complexity of the system as the benefits and help are there to try and give you a minimum standard of living while you have those needs.

Have a browse through the Benefits section on the forum , as that is the place to post with Benefits issues .

Hope that answers your quick query , and do not be afraid to post again if not :)
